We are delighted to have been selected as one of the model regions for the food transition in Germany. This important project, supported by the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL), aims to promote sustainable and healthy eating habits in the regions.
The “NahWertVoll” project of the Studentenwerk and the Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development (HNEE) promotes bio-regional added value and healthy nutrition in communal catering.
The aim is to increase the use of regional and organic food and improve sustainability in the canteens and cafeterias.
“This award as a model region is both a great honor and a challenge. We are proud to be able to make our contribution to the food transition and look forward to working with regional partners,” explains Dorit Wehling, Managing Director of Studierendenwerk Frankfurt (Oder).
“Our aim is to make the food on offer in our canteens and cafeterias more sustainable and healthier. The nutritional turnaround gives us the opportunity to implement innovative concepts and raise our students’ awareness of the issue,” adds Sören Hilschenz, Head of the University Catering Department.

The approval period extends from 01.09.2024 to 31.08.2027.
