Studying with a child is a challenge. Nevertheless, both can be agreed. To ensure that this succeeds, the Studentenwerk offers you a range of support services:  Money Students who live in a household with one or more children can receive a child benefit supplement of 160 euros per month per child in addition to the usual BAföG benefits. Eligibility exists for children up to the age of 14. The surcharge is paid as a non-repayable grant. In addition, all students studying at the universities supervised by Studentenwerk Frankfurt (Oder) can → apply to receive a one-off baby welcome gift of 50 euros per student parent for their newborn child.  Food You will find children’s corners, highchairs and changing rooms in our catering facilities . This gives you the opportunity to escape the stress of everyday life for a few minutes and get ready for the rest of the day.
With the help of the baby food warmers available, you can bring your baby food to the right temperature and eat together with your little one.  Living You are also welcome in our residences with children. On request, we also offer child-friendly equipment (cot, changing table, high chair, baby food warmers, children’s dishes and other items). You can obtain the relevant equipment from the respective janitor.  Day care center The Studentenwerk in Cottbus operates the → daycare center “Anne Frank” with 125 places all year round.  Family offices You can also obtain information and help on balancing studies and children and on family-friendly issues from the university family offices.  Children’s Charter Since 27.06.2023, the Studentenwerk Frankfurt (Oder) has been the sponsor of the Frankfurt → Children’s Charter.
